A Closer Walk

In October 2005 Y.E.A.H. launched the educational release of 'A Closer Walk', a film depicting the global AIDS pandemic. To complement and promote the education value of the film, a detailed educational study guide is available.

The study guide offers an introduction to teachers, parents and students about AIDS in the world. The guide includes activities that are designed to encourage students to explore the issues surrounding AIDS from a human rights perspective as well as providing basic factual information.

Specific learning outcomes make this guide simple and effective to use in the classroom. Activities have also been structured to complement components of the film that can be viewed chapter by chapter, making this guide suitable for a single class focusing on the topic of AIDS or a series of classes that can be conducted for a duration suiting the individual school circular and time frame.

The study guide can be downloaded for FREE from Y.E.A.H.'s web site.

Kevin's Questions

In 2000, filmmaker Miles Roston profiled a 12-year-old Kenyan orphaned by HIV-AIDS for a film he wanted to produce. Kevin was living completely alone, and had been since his mother’s death, from AIDS, two years earlier.

Five years later, Roston revisits Kevin, now on the verge of manhood and facing a number of personal decisions if he was to remain uninfected.

Kevin’s Questions is an emotional story of hope and inspiration told through the eyes and mind of a
young boy and the heart and emotions of a filmmaker. It will make for an exciting, moving and inspiring read.

Six Days in August

Viewers will laugh and be shocked and moved by just how much can happen over the course of one week in a city by the sea where 1 out of 3 people are infected with HIV, and the government's solution is to urge its people to eat beetroot and garlic, while much of the population says it's not their problem.
