YEAH currently receives no State or Federal Government funding to support its vital work.

As founder and CEO of YEAH I have run this organisation without funding for over 2 years. During that time I have worked tirelessly in a full time voluntary capacity without a salary.

Many dedicated volunteers have worked long hours to ensure YEAH reaches as many young people as possible. We love our work in the community but cannot sustain the community demands for HIV information and education services without having resources and staff to deliver them.

YEAH reaches over 7000 people per month through its interactive web site, and also connects with thousands of young Australians through its work with secondary schools and community groups.

Without sustainable funding from all sectors of the community YEAH will not be able to continue educating young Australians about HIV.

Millions of Australians will remain ill-informed and unequipped to protect themselves and others from HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, both here and abroad.

Implementing YEAH's programs at a national level is achievable and affordable. Supporting YEAH provides an opportunity to invest in primary prevention initiatives.

I urge you to consider supporting HIV Youth Education in Australia.

Warm regards,

Alischa Ross
